NL Cash Games and Tournament Failure

I said that I would take time off of poker, but that didn't work so much. Borderline addiction, perhaps. I decided to play some small-stakes NL shorthanded tables. After about two hours, I had tripled up my buy-in to earn a measly $30.

Then, I decided to play the $3 NL tournament. On the second hand, I tripled up when my top two pair went up against bottom two pair and top pair-weak kicker. Then, this hand happened:

I just...don't understand. It's not so much pocket Aces getting cracked on 4-5 suited. It's just...who knows. Needless to say, I didn't do too well in that tournament afterwards. I lost an 88 x AT coinflip and then stuck around a little while to constantly mock mr. 4-5 suited. I'm looking forward to playing more Stud H/L tonight.
